First day in Buenos Aires

After about 24 hrs of flying including some delays I was met by my friend Edward at the EZE airport.  He and I were at Bryanston school in Dorset in England together and last shared a “prefects” study together in 1957 (66 years ago). We lost touch but he made contact 40 years later and 25 years ago he came to British Columbia and crewed on Polyandra in the Queen Charlotte Islands. We have kept in touch since and 12 years ago Penny and I had a memorable visit to Argentina including a few days in Punta del Este with Edward and his wife Karin.

On the first day we were invited to a BBQ at their son’s house. We were joined by Hugh, whom is going to accompany me on the voyage around the Horn.

When you take a selfie it is a mirror image - never realised that before.

Edward’s son Guy designed and built this house. He is an architect who works in a private hospital in Buenos Aires.
